Ram/Hetmyer fifties, bowlers push Guyana to first win

Kaieteur Sports – Guyana secured a dominant 121-run victory over the Leeward Islands yesterday to get their first win at the Liberta Sports Club in Antigua after some clinical all-round performances from a few of their key players.

Round 4 saw Guyana posting 272 all out in 47.1 overs before keeping Leewards to 151 all out in their reply.
Captain Parmeshwar Ram (79), Adrian Hetmyer (76), and Emmanuel Lewis (42) carried the batting for Guyana.

Leewards Matthew Miller grabbed 4 wickets, but his team folded despite Kunal Tilokani (37) and Lawshorn Bergan (31*) trying to keep things together.
Guyana’s bowling was solid again as all-rounder Dhanesh Persaud grabbed 4-31 while Gilbert Griffith (3-29) and Ram took 2 wickets to seal an emphatic win.
Guyana will look to carry their winning momentum into their final scheduled group-stage encounter against the Windwards today at the Piggots Sports Ground.
