The victorious Zealandia team strikes a pose after the game with their Trophy Stall-sponsored trophy.
Kaieteur Sports – National player Ricardo Adams slammed a brilliant 85 to inspire Zeelandia to an exciting, 17-run win against Maria’s Pleasure in the 2026 Wakenaam Cricket Committee/ Trophy Stall T20 championship last Sunday in Wakenaam.
Adams struck six sixes and four fours as his team reached a competitive 182-8 from the allotted 20-overs.
Host Maria’s Pleasure, in reply, were all out for 165 in the penultimate over.
Adams received good support from Joshua Williams who made 30 as Bernard Lewis and Kennard Lewis (brothers) grabbed two wickets for 36 and 45 respectively.
For Maria’s Pleasure, Bernard Lewis returned with the bat to prove his all-round capability hitting 42 while Leoryan Ramlakhan also batted well to make 42.
Off-spinner Devon Rambarran was the most outstanding bowler for Zeelandia grabbing 4-30 from his maximum four overs on a responsive pitch.
Mohindra Jadookol also played an instrumental role with the ball by claiming 2-32 to assist Rambarran.
Maria’s Pleasure had won the toss but elected to field first.
Adams was named player-of-the-match for his effortless innings. He received a trophy while one trophy each was given to the winning combination and the runners-up side.
