Nurse hands over ‘weed’ snacks meant for Mazaruni Prison to police
(Kaieteur News) – A nurse who was given a parcel of snacks to take to the Mazaruni Prison, Region Seven instead took the parcel to the Bartica Police Station after she said they reeked marijuana.
The nurse visited the police station at about 09:40hrs and handed the parcel to the police. The woman told police that a man gave her the parcel.
Ganja found stashed in snacks for Mazaruni Prison.
Police reported that the package was opened in front of the nurse and inside were 18 packs of assorted snacks, Cheese Curls, Zoomers, Ripples and others.
However, when police opened the snacks, stashed inside were cannabis, tobacco leaves and a pack of mints.
The total ganja found amounted to 29.8 grams.
Police made checks for the man who gave the snacks to the nurse but he was nowhere to be seen.
Investigations continue.
