Kaieteur Sports – Reliance Hustlers Sports Club continued their winning ways on their maiden tour of Trinidad and Tobago after registering their second win from two games.
On Saturday, the Essequibo Coast-based team defeated Transbrokerage X1 by five wickets in another T20 fixture in Couva.
In their first outing against Munroe Cricket Club, Friday, Reliance Hustlers clinched a thrilling, one-run win.
On this occasion, they inserted Transbrokerage X1 to take first strike. They kept them to a challenging 157-8 at the conclusion of the 20-overs while Reliance Hustlers responded with 158-5 with 12 balls remaining.
Their effort was led superbly by former Guyana youth player Nathan Persaud with 52 while his opening partner Narendra Madholall contributed 43.
The two-left-handed batters also participated in a steady, 76-run opening stand to lay a solid foundation.
Persaud struck two sixes and six fours during his half-century while Madholall slammed a six and six boundaries.
Mark Gonsalves and Rovindra Parasram kept the momentum in the innings with 25 and 19 not out respectively as David Mohammed grabbed 2-24 for the home-team on a responsive track.
Earlier, Sahadeo, only name given, hit a top-score for Transbrokerage X1 with 52 while Anil Badiase added 27 not out.
Sahadeo batted with a great amount of aggression as well clobbering six sixes and two fours. Persaud was named player-of-the-match for his outstanding, batting performance.
Meanwhile, the Guyanese boys were back in action yesterday, Monday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy venue where they faced Cosmos Cricket Club in their third and final match. This time they will play a 30-over game.
