Kaieteur Sports – Trophy Stall has come board as one of the sponsors for the Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) Boxing Day horserace meet, slated for their racetrack at Bush Lot, Farm, Corentyne, Berbice. The date is Friday December 26th.
Know for their support of sports in general. Trophy Stall Representative Juliana Rikhee handed over the trophies on offer during the event to Mrs. Chand Kennard of the KMTC. Both expressed pleasure at the occasion. Mrs. Kennard for the support of the Trophy Stall and Ms Rikhee on behalf of the sponsors of being able to continue a long tradition of not only supporting sport, but horseracing and in particular the Kennard Memorial Turf Club whom they have supported over many years.
Seven races are carded for the day with incentives including cash trophies and other amenities topping the $10M mark.
The Kharag family will once again take care of the feature event. They have pledged close to $4M for that event. The race, which is billed for all horses in Guyana, will see the animals battling over one mile for the Sunny Kharag Memorial Stakes. The winner will race away with $2M and a trophy.
The sprint classic event going over five furlongs is another big event with the winning prize of $700,000 and trophy at stake.
The winner of the G and lower event gets $500,000 and a trophy over five furlongs.
The Guyana Bred 2 year’s old maiden animals will compete over 5 furlongs with the winner set to gallop away with $350,000 and trophy.
Animals in the “I” and lower event have a first prize pegged at $350,000 and a trophy over seven furlongs.
The winner of the event for the L and K class horses is set to take home $350,000 and trophy over 6 furlongs.
The horses competing in the final event of the day for the L and lower horses that have never earned any prize money over 6 furlongs, will have a pole position taking of $350,000 and a trophy to aim for.
Incentives will be presented to the outstanding jockeys, trainers and stable compliments of Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall.
The KMTC has been touted as one of the top horseracing venues in the country and an exciting day of racing is anticipated.
The event will be conducted using the rules of The Kennard Memorial Turf Club.
Bugle time is 12:30hrs.
