Zone 6 East Coast Demerara Finals:

Annandale Secondary beat Golden Grove Secondary by 142 runs

Kaieteur Sports – Sterling performances with bat and ball from the in-form duo of Joshua Bollers and Ruel Dindyal handed Annandale Secondary School the Zone 6 title after dismantling Grove Secondary yesterday in their finals played at QC Ground.

In dominating fashion, Annandale Secondary surged to their Zone 6 crown after destroying Grove who failed to chase down the 162-5 off 20 overs made.

Annandale Secondary won their Zone following a comprehensive win yesterday.

It was a batting clinic led by national youth batsman and opener Bollers who scored a classy 51 off 50 (4×4), as he steadied the top order during a tough passage before Dindyal helped to turn the match around.

Dindyal, who was Man-of-the-match from a few games ago after returning mind-boggling bowling figures, copped another MVP award after first belting a much-needed 30-ball 45 (3×2 2×6) which gave the middle/lower order some life while taking his school past the 150-run mark.

Two wickets from Grove’s Jeremiah Moses was his team’s best return as they were blown away for 20-10 by the 7th over, with no player getting double figures.

The two national youth all-rounders then returned to put on a clinic with the ball, as Dindyal (5-4) was brilliant again alongside Bollers (3-16), who single-handedly won the crown for their school, with none of the opposition batters getting close to individual double digits scores.
