Team Guyana Shines at CAREBACO Senior Championships 2025
Kaieteur Sports – Team Guyana has advanced to four semi-finals at the ongoing CAREBACO (Caribbean) Senior Badminton Championships 2025 being staged in Trinidad. Those matches were scheduled for yesterday while the tournament concludes today.
Team Guyana were on song at the Regional Badminton tournament.
Lead player Priyanna Ramdhani secured spots in three semi-finals:
- Women’s Singles
- Mixed Doubles (with Akili Haynes)
- Women’s Doubles (with Chequeda De Boulet, Trinidad & Tobago)
Akili Haynes secured spots in two semi-finals:
- Men’s Singles
- Mixed Doubles (with Priyanna Ramdhani)
Nkosi Beaton and Akili Haynes put up a strong fight in Men’s Doubles but were edged out by Jamaica in the Round of 16.
Mishka Beharry also showed great determination, narrowly falling to Trinidad in the Round of 16 in Women’s Singles.
Priyanna Ramdhani played Jamaica in the Women Singles, Women Doubles and Mixed Doubles Semi-Finals. Akili Haynes played Trinidad & Tobago in the Men Singles Semi-Finals and Jamaica in Mixed Doubles Semi-Finals.
