KMTC Emancipation Horse Race Meet on today

Kaieteur Sports – A bumper crowd is expected to swarm the Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) today, August 2, for their much-anticipated Emancipation horse race meet.
The event, which is slated for the prestigious KMTC venue, has seven races carded for the day.
J Racing Stable made a great impact with a last-minute major sponsorship deal, joining P and P Insurance Brokers as a major sponsor.
With a whopping $10M at stake in cash, trophies and other incentives, an exciting day of racing is anticipated.
The feature event is the Emancipation Cup, which is open to all 3-year-old and over horses in Guyana. A sumptuous $1M and a trophy are available for the winner in the one-mile event. Among the top horses entered to compete are Front Line Warrior, Gryphon and Hot and Lucky among the lot.
The E-class non-winner’s event, which also caters for F and G class horses has an interesting lineup that includes the likes of Qurbaan Kingdom, Stormy Victory, Converter, Turmalina Negra and Oy Vey among others. They will battle for $500,000 and a trophy.
The horses classified H and lower will be racing for the top prize of $400,000 and a trophy. The likes of Citation, Sydney, Little Lady, GT Boss, Forza Baby and Theory of Colours will be battling for top honours.
The event for 3-year-old Guyana-Bred maiden horses has a winner’s prize of $400,000 and a trophy.
The other events include two events for Guyana-Bred 2-year-old maiden horses, while the final race is for L Class Open animals.
Among other sponsors on board are Trophy Stall, Mike Pharmacy, Colin Elcock Delmur Company and Racing Stables, Big G Lumber Yard and Stables, Patsan’s Trading Company, Survival Supermarket, Rohan Auto Sales, Armco Construction, Davenant Sawh Mechanical WorkShop, Joe Jagmohan Company, Overseas based Karamchand Balkarran, The Bhola Family, Blue Sewnarine, Surendra Ganesh, Sabita Narine and R and P Construction.
The Champion and runner-up Jockeys, top trainer and stables will all receive accolades, compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall and the organisers.
The day’s event will be held under the aegis of the Kennard Memorial Turf Club.
The first event is expected to race off at 12:30 hrs.
