Kaieteur Sports – Golfing stalwarts Avinash Persaud and Christine Sukhram once again stamped their dominance on local golf, retaining their Brava Guyana Open title.
Held at the Lusignan Golf Club over the weekend, Persaud carded a gross score of 151, tying with Ridel Doeko, but secured victory on the countback, thanks to a superior performance on the back nine.
The win marked Persaud’s 14th Guyana Open title, cementing his legacy as the nation’s most consistent golfer.
In the women’s division, Sukhram continued her remarkable run, also lifting her 14th Open crown with an overall gross of 176, reaffirming her status as the undisputed queen of Guyanese golf.
This year’s Brava Guyana Open attracted over 80 competitors, showcasing both the depth of local talent and the continued prestige of the country’s premier golf tournament.
