Kaieteur Sports – The Golden Arrowhead flew proudly at full draw in Trinidad and Tobago, as Team Guyana delivered a stellar performance at the 2025 Caribbean Development Championships (CDC) — the region’s premier developmental tournament for archery.
With an impressive haul of 44 medals (22 gold, 12 silver, and 10 bronze) the Guyanese contingent cemented its reputation as a regional powerhouse in the sport.

Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, President of Archery Guyana, hailed the performance as a defining moment for the sport in Guyana.
She described their accomplishment as “a monumental moment for Archery Guyana Inc. and for our nation.”
She also extended gratitude to the Guyana Olympic Association, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, National Sports Commission, and corporate sponsors including Guyana Beverages Inc., Massy Gas Products Inc., and partners such as the Guyana Police Force and GRA Customs for their unwavering support.
At the closing ceremony, the Trinidad and Tobago Archery Federation (TTAF) formally handed over hosting rights for the 2026 Caribbean Development Championships to Archery Guyana.
TTAF President Hasmat Ali, in presenting the official flag to Ryan McKinnon, wished the Guyanese federation success in staging the next edition.
Administered under the guidance of World Archery Americas, the CDC continues to serve as the region’s cornerstone for talent development, technical training, and cultural exchange. Guyana’s record-breaking performance at the 2025 edition stands as a testament to the country’s growing dominance in the sport.
Archery Guyana noted that the team’s success reflects the functioning of the country’s investment in youth development, training, coaching, officiating, and all-inclusive growth under Archery Guyana’s strategic plan.
