Sampson, who is expected to play a bigger role in the upcoming regional season with his national side, the Guyana Harpy Eagles, made a strong impression despite featuring in only a handful of matches during the Warriors’ run to the finals.
The hard-hitting 25-year-old, who initially floated around the batting order before securing a permanent spot at the top, scored 241 runs in nine games at an impressive average of 40.16, striking at 153.
His contributions included vital knocks of 25, 33*, 14*, 19, 76, and 50, which helped propel the Warriors to the final, where they eventually fell to the Trinbago Knight Riders in a spirited contest.
Despite the Warriors’ defeat, Sampson’s breakthrough season has firmly established him as one of the most exciting young strikers of the ball in the Caribbean, while laying the foundation for a promising career ahead.
