Colin Elcock Delmur Company and Trophy Stall among top sponsors for Kennard Memorial Turf Club Emancipation Horse Race meet

Kaieteur Sports – There is less than a week to go for the much-anticipated Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC), Emancipation Horse Race meet. The marquee event is set for Sunday 3rd August at the club’s Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne Berbice racetrack. A hoard of sponsors along with over 45 entries have hopped on board for what is expected to be a classical event.
The list of sponsors includes; Trophy Stall, Colin Elcock’s Delmur Company Limited, Mike’s Pharmacy, Muneshwar Company Limited, Survival Supermarket, Patsan Trading Establishment, David Persaud Investments, Amco Construction Company, Blue Seenarine, Rohan Auto Sales, Devanand Sawh Mechanical Work Shop, Joe Jagmohan and The Majeed Family.
Six races are listed on the day’s programme which will have close to $5M in cash, trophies and other memorabilia up for grabs.
The feature event is for the horses’ classified E2 and lower over one-mile with the winner set to race away with $500,000 and trophy.
The Kennard Memorial Turf Club in in excellent shape for horseracing.
Horses running in the event classified H and Lower over seven furlongs has a winning take of $400,000 and trophy.
Animals classified I3 and lower will be competing over five furlongs for a winner’s purse of $300,000 and trophy.
The top animal in the event for Guyana Bred two years old horses competing over 5 furlongs will also run away with $300,000 and trophy.
The horses racing in the event for animals classified L class Open will be aiming for the winning take of $300,000 and trophy over 6 furlongs.
The final event will be for the J and lower animals over six furlongs. The winner is set to race away with $300,000 and trophy.
Outstanding performers will receive accolades compliments of the Trophy Stall Company Limited. Race time is 13:00 hrs.
According to Matriarch of the KMTC and Coordinator, Mrs. Chand Kennard, despite the inclement weather the track is in good condition. According to Mrs. Kennard, with the absence of a functioning Guyana Horse Racing Authority (GHRA), the days event will be held using the rules of the KMTC.
