Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ West Demerara Edition continues with Day Two action

Kaieteur Sports – Day two of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ West Demerara edition brought high-octane action on Wednesday evening, as eight sizzling matchups lit up the street football scene with thrilling goals, Golden Goals, and dominant displays.

The night kicked off with Murphy Street Stars staging a resilient comeback to defeat Game Changers FC 3-1. Teyon Kennedy struck early for Game Changers in the 10th minute, but their joy was short-lived as Kenton Boyce leveled the score just two minutes later. With the match on edge, Dontee McAulay rose to the occasion, sealing the win with a dramatic 28th-minute Golden Goal.

Jetty Ballers were clinical in their 2-0 takedown of Rising Stars, thanks to a brace from the electric Deon Alfred. The striker netted in the 8th and 14th minutes, ensuring Jetty Ballers never lost control of the tie.

Ballers Empire delivered a statement performance, romping to a 6-0 demolition of Wash Bay Boys. Goals from Samuel Garnett and Solomon Austin, including their own Golden strikes, capped a goal-fest that also featured early finishes from Garnett and Mark Bevney in the 5th and 10th minutes respectively.

Pouderoyen Brothers were equally ruthless, brushing aside Westside Ballers with a 4-0 win. Seon Stephens was the man of the moment, completing a hat-trick with goals in the 5th, 15th, and a late Golden Goal in the 30th minute.

In another tight contest, Carl Griffith fired home a decisive 28th-minute Golden Goal to hand Epic Touch Family a hard-earned 2-0 win over Team Family.

Showstoppers lived up to their name, putting on a clinical display in a 3-0 rout of Unstoppable Force. Darren Benjamin struck twice, in the 9th and 28th minutes, while Marvin Josiah added one of his own in the 27th minute.

Meanwhile, Cayenne Massive and Team Gunners advanced without breaking a sweat, picking up walkover wins to round out the evening.

As the competition heats up, fans can expect even more fireworks as teams jostle for supremacy in what is shaping up to be a fiercely competitive edition of the Guinness Greatest of the Streets West Demerara tournament.
