Four gold medals for Raekwon Noel in Colombia
Kaieteur Sports- After clinching gold in the 100m and 200m butterfly events, Guyana’s Raekwon Noel secured four gold medals at the Pan Aquatics Championships with a stellar performance in the 100m backstroke.
Competing at the inaugural Pan Aquatics Championships in Medellín, Colombia, Noel advanced to the finals after breaking the national record with a time of 56.88 seconds, surpassing the previous mark of 57.72 seconds.

Having already claimed gold and set national records in both the 100m and 200m butterfly, Noel outpaced Colombia’s Gabriel Hernandez (57.04s) and Puerto Rico’s Suil Quinoes (59.27s) to add another Pan Aquatics championship title to his name.
And he’s not done yet.
Last evening, Noel took a shot at his fourth gold medal as he competed in the 400m freestyle final, aiming to keep his undefeated streak alive at the championships.
Noel, a freshman at Indiana University, is representing Guyana alongside 16-year-old Shareefah Lewis at the prestigious event, which features athletes from 31 countries and is organized by PanAm Aquatics—the governing body for aquatic sports in the Americas.
