2025 CWI Regional 4-Day Championships Round 7…
…Red Force trail by 122 runs
Kaieteur Sports- All-rounder Keemo Paul narrowly missed a ton but the Guyana Harpy Eagles still had their talons sinked into the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, who trail by 122-runs going into an all-important final day at the Queen’s Park Oval.
The champs were eventually bowled out for 463 in their second innings, after the pair of Kevin Sinclair (35) and Keemo Paul (93), resumed their innings on the morning of the third day.
Paul was the catalyst of the batting, ensuring the lower-order likes of Ashmead Nedd (22) and the veteran Veerasammy Permaul, who scored his first fifty of the season, a well-constructed 52 not out from 94 balls with four boundaries, help stretch the lead as far as possible.
Raymond Perez (82), Kevlon Anderson (51), Tevin Imlach (33) and Kemol Savory (32) gave the Eagles a huge boost on the final score.
Red Force spinner Khary Pierrie toiled for his 4 wickets which cost 119 runs, while Joshua James (2-78), Jyd Goolie (2-39) and a wicket each from pacer Shannon Gabriel and spinner Bryan Charles, headlined a tough outing for the home team.
Stumps on the penultimate day saw the home team Red Force take their second innings score to 101-2, after Amir Jangoo kept his team in the game with a 96-ball 50 featuring 10 fours.
Opener Cephas Cooper will look to resume on his score of 26* (5×4) with Charles (1*) at his side, as the two look to do the hard work on the final day.
Fast-bowler Ronaldo Alimohamed (1-24) and off-spinner Kevin Sinclair (1-7), landed two quick blows during the final session of Day 3, which resulted in the dismissals of opener Kamil Pooran (7) and the huge wicket of the set-looking Jangoo.
Action on the final day bowls off from 10:00h. (C.R)
