Mother dies days after hit-and-run accident that killed her baby
Kaieteur News- Nineteen-year-old Sarita Bedessie also known as Kavita Bedsan, who was involved in an accident on Sunday at Line Path Public Road in Corentyne, Berbice died on Thursday at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

The mother died four days after the accident which took the life of her 9-month-old daughter Phavita Surujnarine and left the father in a critical state. Bedessie, while receiving medical treatment from GPHC, died at 11:15hrs on Thursday.
Meanwhile, an autopsy was performed on nine-month-old Surujnarine which revealed that she died as a result of shock and haemorrhage and multiple injuries. Avinesh Naidoo, the hit-and-run driver is still on the run.
