Sleeping driver slams into parked truck along Linden-Soesdyke Highway
(Kaieteur News) – A driver who reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel escaped with minor injuries on Wednesday morning after crashing into a parked truck along the Linden-Soesdyke Highway.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) did not provide extensive details on the incident. However, the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) told Kaieteur News that there were no serious injuries and classified the crash as a minor incident that did not warrant a detailed report.
A sleeping driver crashed into to this truck which was parked along the Linden Soesdyke Highway.
According to the CCU, information about the accident was released to alert motorists travelling along the roadway about possible traffic disruptions.
The collision briefly affected traffic flow along the highway, but normal movement was restored shortly afterward.
The driver was assessed following the crash, and police confirmed that his injuries were not serious.
