Kaieteur Sports – The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) is pleased to learn that pacer Ronsford Beaton has been cleared to return to bowling in Cricket West Indies (CWI) tournaments by the Loughborough University, a release from the board has stated.
Beaton was recently cleared after the GCB had submitted several video recordings to CWI who forwarded the recordings to Loughborough University for review. The video recordings were assessed and analyzedby Dr Mark King, Professor of Sports Biomechanics of the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences Department.
Loughborough University has since issued a report stating that Mr. Beaton’s action is found to be within the acceptable limits of a bowling action.
Beaton had been reported for a suspect action after the fourth round of the West Indies Championship against Jamaica at Providence. He finished the tournament with eighteen (18) wickets and was the leading fast bowler for Guyana at the time.
The GCB fully supports Beaton moving forward and anticipates him returning to bowling well and performing at a high level soon, the release noted.
