Kaieteur News – There seems to be no slowing down for nine-year-old US-born Guyanese Sean Kitt, as the New York-based track and field athlete turned in another eye-catching performance over the weekend.
Competing for ‘Dashing Dons and Divas’ at the USA Track & Field (USATF) New York Youth Association Championship, Kitt, competing in the Boys 9 – 10 Division, finished sixth overall in the 400m and fourth in the 800m.
Kitt’s time of two minutes, 52.18s (2:52.18) saw him finishing fourth in his heat, while his teammate Justin Murray was fastest on the day with a time of 2:38.69.
In the 400m, Kitt clocked 1:16.02 and Murray, once again, was the fastest of the flock with 1:09.17.
Kitt played the anchor role in the 4X200m relay as he led Dashing Dons and Divas to a comprehensive victory in a time of 2:15.76, finishing ahead of Tailwind (2:34.78), Ocean Breeze Wave Runners (2:36.35) and Ocean Breeze Wave Runners (2:41.30).
Overall Dashing Dons and Divas were winners of the Boys 9 – 10 Division, amassing 57 points – four points more than second place Prospect Park Youth Running (53). Metro Eagles Track & Field Club was third with 41 points. (Rawle Toney)
