BCB executives and president Dr. Cecil Beharry alongside BCB patron, Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat.
Kaieteur Sports – The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) recently received a sponsorship cheque of GY$1.5M courtesy of Patron, Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat.
The Minister committed to the sponsorship during a recent meeting with BCB executives, also raising a similar amount towards the hosting of the 2-day 1st division tournament alongside some cricket developmental programmes.
The BCB expressed thanks to Minister Bharrat for his continued support as it relates to the growth of Cricket and the players across the Ancient County.
Meanwhile, the BCB announced that the 2nd edition of the coaching manual is expected to be published shortly, following the board being able to secure key sponsorship from Massy Motors.
BCB under the leadership of former president Hilbert Foster back in 2021, managed to create some history by becoming the first board in the Caribbean to publish its own coaching manual with the input of its own coaches.
All clubs with junior players especially, would benefit from the distribution of the coaching booklets which are earmarked to be out by July.
As part of the gratitude, the BCB president and executives thanked Mr. Mark Roopnarine for his assistance in securing the sponsorship for the upcoming endeavors.
