DEAR EDITOR,
I have stopped reading “Freddie” for some time now (even though we grew up in the same neighbourhood) because of the most times, illogical columns he writes.
However, a lawyer friend, yesterday morning called and referred me to Freddie’s column which dealt exclusively with my letter appearing in Wednesday, January 28 newspapers.
Firstly, I have been warned that any response would incur Freddie’s wrath, which would then result in another attempt to respond to me, and while I have absolutely no intention to continue to “take on Freddie”, I wish to refer to a few inaccuracies in his surprising attempt to speak on behalf of “a guy from the Arctic Ocean”.
Freddie, I was NOT Ambassador to Brazil when my party lost power in 2015.
Check your facts!
The comment to your 1: “the entire public sector undergoing an ethnic transformation …….. even under Forbes Burnham” can only come from a twisted mind, warped by hate and malnourished by political allegiances.
Give your readers the statistics.
While not claiming, as Freddie so often does to be an intellectual, I suggest that he researches the word (or term as he called it) “fascistization”.
It seems as if your political “groundings” and “intellectual” background were wasted with the passage of time.
His comment 2: “please be advised that the Ombudsman is NOT the legal authority to determine the termination of a contract as illegal” (as far as I have been advised).
I understand the courts are the proper fora to do so, and that is where I took my case.
Seems as if you were not certain of your legal rights, with all the “mouth” you have, and friends in the legal fraternity.
You need competent legal advice, as I had.
His comment 3: since YOU are the person who knows it ALL, why don’t YOU tell your readers the numbers and names of those demonized?
I, for one would wish to be so enlightened.
His comment 4: nah, Freddie boy, me nah bin ah drink “something strange”.
But if yo want, me can gi yo some ah wha me bin drinking, fo free…
Freddie, you always quoting what somebody says to you, as now in the case of Mitra Ally.
Again, I implore/urge/encourage you to let us have the benefit of the “countless others” apart from you and your wife.
It may help your obvious cause, my boy…
Stan good, mi boy..
Best regards,
Harry N Nawbatt
