The Guyana Top Senior & Junior Badminton Players will be taking part in the Caribbean International Badminton Championships to be held at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex in Barbados August 15-25 with their eyes on Olympic qualification.
Last year at this Championship held in Suriname the Guyanese Players won 13-Medals (5-Gold, 2-Silvers & 6 Bronze). And a release from President of the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) Gokarn Ramdhani indicated, “We will to do this again this year as our players have been in intense training twice daily over the past weeks.”
The team contesting the various events at the tournament includes: U-19 Juniors International & Open International Priyanna Ramdhani (Junior Sportswoman of the Year 2018)-(National Junior & Senior Champion, Last Year’s Carebaco U-19 Champion & Open Runner-up.

Akili Haynes – (National Junior Champion)
Narayan Ramdhani – (National Senior Champion & Last Year’s Carebaco Open Bronze Medalist
Jonathan Mangra – (No. 2 National Senior Champion & Last Year’s Carebaco Open Bronze Medalist
Manager/Coach is Gokarn Ramdhani.
The 17-Countries taking part are: Guyana, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Jamaica, Panama, Canada, Usa, Finland, Italy, Poland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Slovakia, England, Mongolia and Germany.
CAREBACO is an Olympic Qualifier so players from around the world will be participating to get higher World Ranking Points.
