Team Bent Street left the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue $700,000 richer after defeating Gold Is Money 6-5 in the final of the Stag Beer Easter futsal festival that was organised by the Santos Football Club (SFC) on Tuesday night.
A brace from Pernell Schultz to go along with one each from Adrian Aaron, Sheldon Holder, Daniel Wilson and Clive DeNobrega accounted for Bent Street’s six goals, while Randolph Wagner netted a helmet-trick for the losing finalists, while his teammate Colin Nelson netted the other.
In the third place playoff that kicked off at 22:00hrs, Sparta Boss bettered North East 8-6 despite a hat-trick from Kevin Moore. In the high-scoring encounter, Jermaine Junor, Ryan Hackett and Daniel Edwards each scored a brace for the winners, while Gregory Richardson and Devon Charles added the seventh and eighth goals.
Also on target for North East were Kevin Moore who notched a brace and Joel Yahn who found the back of the net once.
Thirty-two teams featured in the competition that was sponsored by Ansa Mcal, Dynas Trading, Star Party Rental, Sonic Boom and 94.1.
