Mohamed’s Enterprise of Lombard Street has thrown their support behind the GFF-ExxonMobil International Futsal Festival set for the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall December 27 to 30.
Yesterday at the business house boardroom, Proprietor Nazar Mohamed made the presentation of a cheque to Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Executive Dion Inniss in the presence of Aubrey ‘Shanghai’ Major of the organisers.

Mr. Mohamed stated that he was very happy to see Kashif and Shanghai back in the promotion of football events and he is always happy to support them. He noted that he has been associated with the organising duo for over 30 years and he is happy to support their exceptional organising abilities.
Inniss in receiving the valuable corporate sustenance from Mohamed’s Enterprise, stated that he and the GFF were happy with the assistance and thanked the entity for being on board with the event. The football official pointed out that Mohamed’s demonstrated their investment in youths and to ensure they have the opportunity to exhibit their talent and focus in a positive environment. He called on other sponsors to support sports in general, moreso football, taking a pattern of Mohamed’s Enterprise who is known for their support to various sporting disciplines and charitable causes.
This is not the first for Mohamed’s in the futsal arena, they sponsor a tournament played in the Mining Town of Linden, which is in its third year.
The four-day festival will see six matches being played nightly between 18:00hrs and 00:00hrs.
The tournament also involves overseas teams in: Morvant Caledonia United out of Trinidad and Tobago, a Suriname All Star side and a São Paulo selection from Brazil. The locally participating teams are an East Coast All-Stars, Linden All-Stars, Georgetown All-Stars and West Demerara All Stars.
The winning team will pocket $1.2 million, while the losing finalist will receive half that amount. Third and fourth-placed finishers will pocket $300,000 and $100,000 respectively.
