14th Universal Auto and General Supplies… John is feature race winner; Gopilall takes juvenile event

Team Coco’s Jamal John romped to victory in the feature 35 lap school boys and invitation race when the 14th edition of the Universal Auto and General Supplies National Park Cycle Meet was held yesterday at the venue’s Inner Circuit.
From a field of 30-starters, John stopped the clock at One Hour 15 Minutes 29.62 Seconds to win from the improving Deeraj Garbarran, Hamzah Eastman, Alonzo Ambrose, Andrew Hicks and Raymond Newton in that order.
Following are the other results of yesterday’s event where the prizes were distributed by Managing Director of Universal Auto and General Supplies Mr. Shameer Baksh and family.
Meanwhile, attention will switch to the road when the 8th annual Powerade 46-mile race sponsored by Banks DIH Limited takes place on the West Demerara. Race time is 08:30hrs from Schoonord, proceeding to Bushy Park, East Bank Essequibo before returning to the point of origin for the finish.
