The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite league will continue this evening with another double header in the city as defending league champions Guyana Defence Force (GDF) will head to their home ground on Carifesta Avenue in a good opportunity to overtake Western Tigers as the current league leaders.
The opening game, which is scheduled to kick off at 18:00hrs under lights, will be an East versus West Demerara clash between bottom half languishers Ann’s Grove FC and second placed Den Amstel FC, while the home team will fancy their chances against the Cougars FC, that are yet to register a point from their four matches played, in the feature game which kicks off at 20:00hrs.
During the last match day on Sunday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Victoria Kings lost their first match at the hands of Fruta Conquerors to surrender their lead to the Tucville based side, while Western Tigers now have 10 points from four games after defeating Buxton United 2-0 during on the same day.
Although Aubrey Gibson didn’t manage to find the back of the net on Sunday during his team, Victoria King’s 2-0 loss to Conquerors, he continues to lead the goal scorers’ chart with 5 goals, while Western Tigers’ Andrew Murray Jr. is close behind with 4 goals.
