During the opening of tenders at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) yesterday, the Ministry of Public Security was listed as the procuring entity for three contracts: the construction of the Mabaruma Fire Station phase one; construction of the Mahdia Fire Station in Region Nine (Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo); and the construction of the Lethem Fire Station, also in Region Nine.

Tenders were also opened for the purchasing of classroom equipment for the University of Guyana. This contract was divided into two lots and the procuring entity was listed as the Ministry of Education.
The Education Ministry was listed as the procuring entity also, for the contract for repairs and Maintenance works to the St. Mary’s Secondary School. The engineer’s estimate was announced at $9.6M.
Bids were opened for the supply and installation of 43 kilowatt peak (kWp) grid-connected solar power photovoltaic system. The procuring entity was announced as the Guyana Energy Agency (GEA).
Two firms submitted financial proposals for the co-ordination of the implementation of the Ministry of Business’s Strategic Plan, 2016 to 2020. These firms were: Ramdial and Haynes; and Joseph Brian Singh.
The Business Ministry is also the procuring entity for the construction of a chain-link fence at Belvedere Industrial Estate, Region Six (East Berbice/Corentyne). The engineer’s estimate was announced at $17.7M.
Tenders were opened for the supply of equipment, materials and labour for the rehabilitation of potable water wells in Region Six (East Berbice/Corentyne). The procuring entity is the Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI).
The GWI is also the procuring entity for the contract to supply and deliver water meter boxes.
Tenders were also opened for the rehabilitation of the water distribution network and upgrade, in Port Kaituma, Region One (Barima/Waini). The engineer’s estimate was announced at $27.9M.
The Ministry of Public Health was listed as the procuring entity for the extension of the Charles Rosa School for Nursing (faculty) building and external works. The engineer’s estimate was announced at $28.5M.
Tenders were opened for the construction of a mental institute building. The Ministry of Public Health was once again, listed as the procuring entity and the engineer’s estimate was announced at $65.7M.
Finally, financial proposals were submitted for audit services for the period of 2016, for the Global Fund for HIV/Aids, tuberculosis and malaria programmes.
