GSL prepares for nationwide 10/10 tourney

Guyana Softball League (GSL) has revamped their logo as they prepare to launch the nationwide 10/10 Tournament for 2017. Registration will be done nationwide during the entire month of January 2017. The GSL sincerely thank Mr. Dennis Dias and the graphic artists at DD Signs for voluntarily designing the new GSL logo and letterhead.
The GSL has taken a stand to assist itself by doing several fundraising events to stage the upcoming nationwide tournament and will be coordinated by the now installed GSL’s Marketing & Events Team. A new secretary will be selected to replace Mr. Leonard Harprashad since he will be unavailable due to personal reasons. Additionally other personnel will be named shortly as the GSL goes through their budget preparations for the upcoming tournament.
GSL is strengthening its administration, organisation, marketing and coordination by bringing onboard several key persons who will provide voluntary services to help raise funds for the upcoming tournament. The GSL hopes that the business community and government under specific ministries will be able to give support to one of Guyana’s biggest tournaments that involves both males and females from every region in Guyana. This event is paramount especially in a time when acquiring and maintaining great social cohesion is top priority.
The President and new Assistant Secretary (formerly the Secretary) of the GSL, Mr. Halim Khan and Mr Leonard Harprashad, understand the intricacies of acquiring the much-needed sponsorship that will cover the expense budget for the competition; especially after there would have been an inflation of costs over the past four years when the tournament was last held. Over the next two months, the GSL will be meeting with potential stakeholders.
The motto of the Guyana Softball League is UNITY AND HARMONY THROUGH THE GAME since softball cricket is a disciplined sport and the GSL has taken the game to the next level whereas all tournaments were played by international rules that govern cricket.
