The Guyana Jaguars yesterday defeated the Windward Islands Volcanoes by an innings and 10 runs in Dominica to officially capture their seventh Regional First-Class title and first since 1998.
The Windwards began the final day on 113-6 and were bowled out for 134. Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul (4-30) and leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo (4-38) for the second time in the game destroyed the Islanders’ batting.

Guyana collected 18 points to finish the tournament with 148 points with nine wins and their only loss in the third round against Barbados at Providence.
Narsingh Deonarine (2), Vishaul Singh, Chris Barnwell and Shiv Chanderpaul registered centuries for the Jaguars, while Permaul took 67 wickets and Bishoo 61 to both break the record for most wickets in a season of 60 set by off-spinner Ryan Austin.
The Leon Johnson led team is expected home this afternoon at the Ogle International Airport.
