Clyde Brown, a resident of Troolie Island, was acquitted of the murder of Karia Karia shop owner, Paul John, by Justice William Ramlal at the Suddie High court.
Brown was freed on a unanimous verdict of not guilty by jurors. Brown’s preliminary inquiry was initially heard by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ court.
The case for the state was that on August 11, 2010, three men attacked Paul around 20:30hrs, at his Karia Karia residence. They had pretended to be customers.
Paul sustained a single gunshot wound to his abdomen during scuffle with the men.
