(Kaieteur News) – Police on Saturday arrested one of two remaining suspects wanted in connection with the brutal murder of 39-year-old Levi Williams, whose body was discovered stuffed headfirst inside a barrel at the Le Repentir Cemetery on Christmas night last year.
The suspect, Kevin Lawson, also called “Baby” and known as Edgar Lawson, 33, was captured during a police cordon-and-search exercise conducted between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Bougainvillea Park, Farm, East Bank Demerara.
Lawson had been on the run since the killing of Williams, also known as “Vamperous,” whose body was found at about 11:40 p.m. on 25th December, 2025, abandoned inside a barrel at the cemetery.
Police have already charged three other men with Williams’ murder: Randy Mars, called “Ratty,” Aaron Khan, called “Tattoo Man,” and Jamal David, called “Hundred.”
Investigators allege that Williams was beaten to death at a drug block on Charlotte Street, Bourda, after being accused of stealing a firearm. His body was reportedly placed in a plastic bag, loaded into a vehicle, and transported to the Le Repentir Cemetery, where it was dumped inside the barrel.
Lawson is expected to be processed by investigators as the murder probe continues. One other suspect remains wanted.
