Overdrive were crowned champions of the Good Success Community Policing Group (GSCPG) dominoes competition which was contested last Sunday at Amit Ramnarine residence in Good Success, Wakenaam.
Anand Dhanyshure made 16 games, while Vickram Ramnarine and Bayo Kumar supported with 15 each for Overdrive who chalked 84 games to take the final comfortably.
All star placed second with 67 games while Eastern Wakenaam finished third on 63. Satnarine Singh marked a maximum of 18 and Khalid Zaman 14 for All star, while James McAlmond and Mitroy Solomon scored 15 and 14 games respectively for Eastern Wakenaam. Overdrive with 88 games won the first round with archrivals All star 82 and Underdog 64. Amit Ramnarine marked a maximum of 18 games, while Dhanyshure and Bayo Kumar made 16 each for the winners. Nazeer Mohamed scored a highest 18, while Zaman made 15 and Heera Sukram 14 for Allstar; Asif Ahmad recorded 15 for Underdog.
The second round was won by Easter Wakenaam with 80 ahead of All star 70 and Underdog 66 games.
Mark Petrie and Solomon were Easter Wakenaam leading players with 16 and 14 games respectively. Vijay Persaud marked 15 and Zaman 14 for All star and Ganeshram Narine 13 for Underdog. Ahmad was the love bird.
Overdrive received the Satnarine Singh trophy, All star collected the Mikey Speed Boat Service accolade and Eastern Wakenaam took the third place prize. Satnarine Singh was given the man of the match in the final award. (Zaheer Mohamed)
