Butler and Weld Houses got off to positive starts when the 2013 edition of the St. Stanislaus College Inter-House Hockey Championships bullied off last week, at the College’s Marion Forum.
Butler, led by Captain Andy Dindial dominated Etheridge to register a 3-1 win in the opening encounter, while Weld edged a young Galton side 1-0.

On Thursday points leaders Butler and Weld battled to a 1-1 stalemate, before Etheridge’s dynamic forward line of Shemuel King and Marcia Persaud inspired their team to a 2-1 comeback victory over Galton.
Yesterday’s matches featured Etheridge versus Weld and Galton versus Butler as the teams play their final round robin matches, before the semifinals set for tomorrow.
This tournament is one of several activities planned by the newly formed Saints Hockey Club, in their efforts to increase awareness of the sport and continue its development at the school.
St. Stanislaus College has won three of the last five inter school tournaments played over the last three years.
