Mohamed Qualander was the top shoot in the senior category at last Sunday’s Practical Pistol Shooting competition organized by the Guyana National Rifle Association Handgun section and held at the Timehri Shooting Ranges.
Qualander amassed 139.6 points following victory in the two-stage event finishing first place at stage two and second at stage one. Ray Beharry copped the second position with 115.25 points following a first place finish at stage one.
Chad Melville was third overall with 104.5 points following a third place finish in stage one. Ryan McKinnon and Gordon Richards finish second and third respectively in the second stage of the competition.
Duane Duncan was the winner in the junior category with 91.2 points. He placed first in stage two and second in stage one.
Rajiv Latchana was second overall with 88.3 points following his success in stage one and second place in stage two.
Alex Moore who placed third in the second stage was third with 62.1 points. Randy Sarjoo was third in stage one.
Last Sunday’s competition was the fifth major event organized by the handgun section for 2013.
