Migrated to the US one month ago
Former Guyana sprint king Rawle Green who gravitated the sport of Bodybuilding where he has created a name for himself ever since competing, will make his stage debut in the United States of America which he has made his new home just almost one month ago.
Green will take on 13 other competitors on Saturday at 2010 Muscletech International Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (INBF)/World Bodybuilding & Figure Championships set for the Martin Luther King High School.
Speaking with Kaieteur Sport just before his training session at the Bally’s Gym, New York, yesterday, Green said has been hard at preparations for the past three weeks under the guidance of his Barbadian Coach, Ian Mercer.
He noted that this level of competition will be a first for him and he is looking forward to the challenge of taking on the other athletes some of who are from Germany, Australia and Switzerland.
“This will be my first competition since I am here and my second overseas. This would certainly be a new experience for me in a very young career in bodybuilding so I will be using it for exposure and experience.”
Green said he has spoken with recently crowned Mr. Universe Over-50 champion Hugh Ross who also resides in the US and received some tips to enhance his preparations.
He has stated that he will be back to compete in the National championships in Guyana since he is aiming to win the overall competition at the next Central American & Caribbean Championships.
Saturday’s event will see a WNBF Pro Card being awarded in the Men’s and Women’s Bodybuilding, Figure, Ms. Fit Body and Masters Men’s Bodybuilding classes.
Over 300 competitors, male and female are listed to compete. (Franklin Wilson)
