The West Indies selectors have named the following players for the International Cricket Council’s Women’s World Twenty20 Championship in England in June.
No Guyanese have found favour with the selector, Erva Giddings the most likely candidate not being considered. Led by captain Merissa Aguilleira, the side also includes the talented allrounder Stafanie Taylor, who impressed in the recently staged ODI World Cup in England, which the host won.
The full squad: Merissa Aguilleira (Captain), Kirbyina Alexander (Vice Captain), Shanel Daley, Deandra Dottin, Cordel Jack, Stacy-Ann King, Pamela Lavine, Debbie-Ann Lewis, Anisa Mohammed, Juliana Nero, Shakera Selman, Danielle Small, Charlene Taitt, Stafanie Taylor.
Team management: Patricia Greenidge (Manager); Sherwin Campbell (Coach), Jacqueline King-Mowatt (Physiotherapist), Shannon Lashley (Fitness and Conditioning Co-ordinator).
