Pele FC led by a double from Shemroy Arthur hammered hosts University of Guyana 3-0 when competition in the Milo under-21 League which is being played on a round-robin and knock-out format resumed on Tuesday in the city.
The competition was suspended late last year due to adverse weather conditions but with great improvement, is back on track.
Arthur, Pele first choice Premier League goalkeeper, showed his versatility as a forward by netting a brace, the first coming after just four minutes of play and the other, ten minutes later. Rensford Coleridge sealed the deal against the University boys in the 63rd minute.
Black Pearl gained full points against Thomas United who failed to show up for their clash at the Camptown ground.
The competition will continue tomorrow with four matches at two venues.
At the Camptown ground in Campbellville, Beacon tangle with BK International Western Tigers from 13:30hrs with the feature game between the host team Sunburst Camptown and Flamingo from 15:30hrs.
Over at the Tucville ground at the same times, Fruta Conquerors match skills with Uprising and Riddim Squad oppose Santos. (Franklin Wilson)
