The National Sports Commission (NSC) schools’ basketball competition has entered the final eight stages with one game remaining between Central High School and Critchlow Labour College in Group ‘C’.
The competition, which is being staged at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall attracted some 17 teams in three groups with the top two teams in each category advancing to the knockout super–eight stage of the contest.
Charlestown and Bishops High School advanced from Group ‘A’, while Covent Garden and Guyana Technical Institute successfully came out of Group ‘B’ with Saint Stanislaus and Marian Academy topping Group ‘D’.
While President College sits healthily on top of Group ‘C’, a deciding encounter between Central and Critchlow is to decide the second team that will advance, which seems like Critchlow from all indications.
The knockout phase will decide the four semi-finalists with the finals already set for this weekend. NSC officials are to decide on the draw for the super-eight playoffs, which will be released sometime this week.
