West Coast Champions Rangers Sports Club and Wolf’s Warriors defeated United Brothers Sports Club and Die Hard Sports Club respectively to book their places into the semi-finals of the Guyana Softball League/Memorex Enterprise countrywide tournament in latest matches. In the first match, United Brothers Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat on a very good wicket.
They started badly losing their first two wickets with only 11 runs on the board to opening bowlers Diaram Persaud and Asif Saffie, but # 3 batsman Raymond Beaton tried to repair the damage with Chabilall Etwaru and the pair added 39 runs but with the introduction of Left armer Jagmohan Singh things started to take a different turn.

He then returned to capture Shannon Jagmohan, who was making a spirited rearguard fight, for 20.
Singh eventually ended with 5-13 from his allotted three overs and United Brothers fell for 85 in 12 overs. He got support from Captain Asif Saffie 1-13 from 3 overs and Diaram Persaud 1-21 from 3 overs.
Rangers Sports Club showed just why they are Demerara Champions by knocking off the runs in 9.3 overs making 89-2 with Zaheer Haniff 34 not out (2×6;1×4) and Diaram Persaud 30 not out (2×6;2×4) featuring in a partnership of 70 unbeaten runs.
