Last Friday night at the Everest Cricket ground produced a thrilling softball cricket match between a very young and athletic Sleepin team, who were eventually out classed by the experience of the Floodlights men.

Sleepin International Hotel sent in to bat, after a very good start, were restricted to 180 all out in the 21st over. N. Narine top scored with 35, J. Narine 24, and crowd favourite Anil Nandalall made 7. Buddy Rahaman Khan was the best bowler for Floodlights capturing 4 wickets for 21 runs.
In their turn at the wicket, ten runs were required in the last over when Floodlights batted, the first two deliveries were dot balls, the third a double, fourth delivery a six and fifth delivery a four as man-of-the-match Mark “Rambo” Harold saw his team to victory and remained undefeated on 48. Fidel Singh made a quick fire 55 and Ricky Deonarain 24.
Best catch trophy went to Ramchand Ragbeer and best fielder to Patrick Khan.
Next week Friday night the Floodlight A & B team will engage in their third trial match as their preparation continues for the Florida Cup 2009 tournament in February at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
