Grove South inflicted a crushing 12-0 win over New Scheme as play in the Grove 7-a-side Inter-Block Football Competition which is being organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport, opened last Sunday, at the Community Playfield.
Leading the onslaught were Rondell Alleyne and Quincy Pinnie with a treble apiece, while other contributors included Sheldon Doris and Travis Jones, a brace each and Orson Francois and Dexter Archer with single strikes.
Alleyne was later voted player of the match and will be awarded with a pair of football boots compliments of Parliamentary Secretary within the Ministry Steve Ninvalle later today.
Meanwhile, in today’s scheduled fixture, the Wayne Francois-led Caneville will engage Squatting Area, at the same venue.
The Mocha segment which was expected to commence last Sunday has been pushed back to this Sunday after the Organisers felt that the ground was in an unplayable state.
