Kaieteur Sports – National Cyclist, Andre “Padlock” Green returned to the world of cycling with a telling performance as he whipped the field to ride away with the Mashramani cycle event in Berbice.
The event, which was organised by the Flying Ace Cycle Club (FACC) of New Amsterdam, was held on Mash Day around the town of New Amsterdam.

Green, who was absent from cycling for a while due to a number of unforeseen circumstances, showed that he has lost none of his touches as he took charge of the six-lap event early to win with ease.
The race, which was for cyclists in Regions Five and Six, saw the cyclists being sent on their way around 14:00hrs as he pedaled off from the junction of Republic Road and Charles Place.
The riders then turned left into Vryheid Street, left into Main Street, proceed along Main Street, turned left at Tacama Turn, into Republic Road for six laps a total of 30 miles.

Green was so dominant that he took charge from the start and was never challenged, lapping some of the riders in the process to win with ease.
Riding in second was the evergreen Junior Niles, with Sidwell Sandy third, Jaikarran Sookhai fourth, Syborne Fernandes fifth and Deon David sixth.
Arjune Sookhai won in the junior category.
Founder President and coach of the FACC Randolph Roberts was the coordinator.
