Kaieteur Sports – The new executive of the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPLF) will lift off their 2026 season with the hosting of the Novices/Juniors National Championship set for Sunday, March 8, at Saints Stanislaus Collage Auditorium, in the capital City.
Young lifters from across the country will compete as they showcase their progress, and join a growing community dedicated to strength, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Weigh-in begins at 07:00hrs sharp and the first lift will commence promptly at 09:00hrs. Competitors should arrive early with completed registration, valid identification, and competition-ready gear.
Coaches, parents, and supporters are encouraged to attend to cheer emerging talent and witness the next generation of Guyanese powerlifters.
This championship seeks to grow the sport by welcoming and harnessing fresh young talent to the strength sport arena. Novice and junior divisions will follow standard federation rules and will be officiated by certified Referees to ensure fair, safe, and transparent competition.
Awards will be presented for top lifters in each weight class, and special recognition will be given for outstanding technique, sportsmanship, and personal bests.
Registration details, weight classes, and technical rules are available through the federation’s official channels. For inquiries about entry, coaching accreditation, or volunteer opportunities, contact the federation’s Organising Committee.
Whether you are taking your first competitive steps or returning to test new limits, the 2026 Novices/Juniors National Championship is the place to begin a powerful journey. Join us on March 8 to lift, inspire, and build the future of Guyanese powerlifting.
