Kaieteur Sports – Day two of the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) 2026 National Schools Track and Field Championships did not disappoint as athletes assembled once again at the National Track and Field Facility in Edinburgh, West Coast Demerara, to vie for glory.
The morning session kicked off on the track with the Boys’ 10 – 14 (Grade 7) 1000m-showdown, which was immediately followed by the 800m finals in all divisions, then the 200m preliminaries, while the 3000m battles set the programme for the afternoon session.
Linden Technical Institute’s (LTI) Kaidon Persaud (1:59.64s) turned in an impressive performance to win the Under-20 Boys’ 800m finale ahead of Government Technical Institute’s (GTI) Jonathon Bristol (2:01.54s) and Mahaicony Technical and Vocational Training Centre’s (MTVTC) Quency Marks (2:01.68s).
