Kaieteur Sports – Led by a pair of fifties, Regions 1, 7, 8 & 9 Combined romped to a 53-run victory over Regions 4A & 4B Combined in match 2 of the ongoing 2026 Commissioner of Police T20 Cup hosted at the Police Sports Club Ground.
Veteran player Damian Vantull was the headliner, hammering a 29-ball 64 with 7 maximums and a solitary four to guide his team’s innings after winning the toss and posting 174 all out in 16.3 overs.
Top-order batsman, Lynsford Williams also played a devastating hand as he muscled 51 off 25, with 4 fours and 5 sixes, steering the innings alongside franchise player Vantull.
Chasing a stiff target for victory, Regions 4A & 4B Combined clawed their way to 121 in 16.2 overs with Troy Drakes offering some resistance with 41, not finding the right help for the chase.
Defending their total turned out to be an easy task for Regions 1, 7, 8 & 9 Combined, being indebted to the pair of Kevis Mendonca (3-33) and Marlon Lord (3-35); who kept the pressure mounting on their opponents during the chase.
Action continues today. (C. Ross)
