Nexgen Golf Academy kicks off 2026 with free golf offer to grow the game
Kaieteur Sports – Nexgen Golf Academy, Guyana’s only dedicated golf practice and training facility, located on Woolford Avenue, Georgetown, will begin 2026 with an exciting initiative aimed at increasing participation in the sport, particularly among young people.
Starting January 2 through March 31, 2026, golfers will benefit from a “Pay for One Hour, Get the Second Hour Free” promotion at the Academy. In a major boost for youth development, student rates will be reduced to ZERO, while including access to golf balls and equipment, during the same period.
According to Guyana Golf Association (GGA) President Aleem Hussain, the initiative aligns with national efforts to expand youth involvement in sports. “In discussions with the Honourable Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., he expressed a strong desire to see more young people involved in golf. This initiative is our way of giving back and creating access for those who are interested in learning the game,” Hussain said.
Nexgen Golf Academy is also the only certified LPGA/USGA Girls Golf site in Guyana, offering a globally recognized program designed to introduce girls to golf in a fun, safe, and empowering environment. Benefits of the program include structured coaching aligned with international standards, life-skills development such as confidence and leadership, exposure to regional and international competitions, and pathways to scholarships and elite training opportunities.
As part of its 2026 growth strategy, the Academy will soon launch a nationwide outreach campaign targeting schools and communities to encourage greater participation in the LPGA/USGA Girls Golf program and junior golf overall.
Additional initiatives planned for the first quarter of 2026 include:
* Free weekly junior beginner clinics
* School and community golf outreach activations
* Monthly junior fun tournaments
* Talent identification for advanced training pathways
* Parent and guardian education sessions on golf development opportunities
These initiatives will set the tone for what is expected to be an aggressive year of growth, development, and improved performance for Guyana’s emerging golfers.
“Our goal is not just to introduce golf, but to create clear pathways for long-term development, character building, and international opportunity,” said LPGA Girl’s Site Director Philip Haynes.
