(Kaieteur News) – Police in Regional Division #6 are investigating the discovery of suspected cocaine following an operation on Monday around 18:40hrs at Scottsburg Public Road, Corriverton.
Acting on intelligence, ranks stopped a motorcar and searched the 37-year-old driver, a resident of No. 77 Housing Scheme, Corriverton. Officers reportedly found two transparent plastic bags containing a hard, rock-like creamy substance suspected to be cocaine in the man’s pants pocket, a police statement read.
He was immediately arrested and taken to the Springlands Police Station along with the suspected narcotics. The substance was weighed in his presence and amounted to 63.1 grams. It has since been lodged as investigations proceed. The suspect remains in police custody as the probe continues.
