Kaieteur Sports – Annai Secondary lit up the Annai Community Centre ground on Saturday, November 29, delivering a commanding 4–0 victory over St. Ignatius Secondary to punch their ticket to the Caribbean’s premier youth football showcase—the KFC International Goodwill Football Series.

Annai Secondary (in photo) will join Chase’s Academic Foundation and West Ruimveldt Secondary in the upcoming 2025 KFC International Goodwill Football Series featuring schools from Brazil, Trinidad, Jamaica, Suriname and The Bahamas.
It was a ruthless turnaround from the pair’s anticlimactic 2–2 draw just a week earlier in St Ignatius’ backyard. This time, on home turf, Annai dialed up the intensity and never let their rivals breathe.
Darius Wilson ignited the onslaught, netting a sharp brace in the 27th and 35th minutes to put Annai firmly in control. Three minutes after Wilson’s second, Joshua Glasgow added his name to the scoresheet with a tidy 30th-minute finish that sent the home crowd into a frenzy.
St Ignatius, chasing the game from early, couldn’t keep up with Annai’s pace and pressure. Any hopes of a late comeback were buried in the 85th minute, when Santino Seorosentono sealed the result with a cool second half strike.
With a win and a draw across the two-leg Region Nine playoff, Annai Secondary now advances to join the Republic Bank Under-18 Schools League champions and runners-up in the prestigious regional Football tournament.
Annai came into the matchup needing a statement, what they delivered was a warning to every school they’ll meet in the Petra International Goodwill Series: they’re arriving in top form and hungry for more.
From December 14-21, the Ministry of Education ground will be the battle field for the eight Secondary School’s champions, as they seek to claim KFC Goodwill supremacy.
