(Kaieteur News) – The Association of Chinese Enterprises in Guyana (ACEG) has made an additional donation to the Civil Defence Commission (CDC) to support the ongoing response and relief efforts following the MV Barima maritime tragedy.
The donation, funded collectively by ACEG’s member companies, was presented by the association’s General Secretary, Jason Wang, to CDC Director General Colonel Nazrul Hussain during a simple handing-over ceremony. Chinese Embassy Counsellor Li was also present.

Among the companies contributing to the initiative were Hong Da Lian Shao Guyana Construction Inc., PowerChina International Group Ltd., Xinhai International (South America) Inc., Ping An Inc., CNQC Guyana, LongReach Investments & Construction Inc., China Auto Sales, One Tree International Inc., Guyana Green Farm Inc., and Bosai Minerals Guyana.
ACEG said the additional contribution reflects the organisation’s continued commitment to standing with the people of Guyana during times of tragedy and supporting the country’s emergency response efforts.
The association also extended its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the MV Barima disaster and expressed appreciation to emergency responders, recovery teams, government agencies and all others involved in the ongoing operations.
