Kaieteur Sports – Barbados inflicted a 7-wicket defeat upon the Guyanese by virtue of DLS Method led by a classy fifty from their skipper Gadson Bowens, when Regional U17 cricket continued across Trinidad and Tobago yesterday.
Guyana were mowed down batting first for just 105 runs with Parmeshwar Ram (24), Shamar Apple, (23) Emmanuel Lewis (10) and Dave Mohabir (13) hanging around for as much as they could afford to.
Their respective stays at the crease were cut short thanks to clinical bowling from the Bajan trio of Justin Parris (3-16), Raphael Lovell (2-11) and Asher Branford (2-24).
Barbados captain Bowens led the chase with an even 50 off 46 (3×4 2×6) while support came in the form of Kelani Clarke (16) who helped steer their side to 108-3 after just 20 overs.
Only Darwin Joseph (2-14) managed to make any significant impact with the ball for Guyana.
Trinidad & Tobago (130-5) beat Windward Island (125 all out) by 5 wickets (D/L)
Leeward Islands (192-7) beat Jamaica (186-8) by 3 wickets
